21 Declaration of Disaster for McLennan Co – Freezing Temps Update

After visiting with area city managers, law enforcement, emergency management officials and others, it is clear that our community is facing a serious threat from this winter storm.  Weather related damage is already occurring in our community and our current weather situation is deteriorating.  Conditions are expected to worsen over the next several days, with unbearably cold temperatures settling in and more wintry precipitation expected.  Road conditions are already treacherous.

Due to this imminent weather threat, I have issued the attached Disaster Declaration for McLennan County, effective today, February 14, 2021.

Please stay home and off the roads and take steps to conserve electricity.  You can check current road conditions at the Drive Texas website: www.drivetexas.org.

Please call 254-757-5222 if you need a Law Enforcement response NON-urgent.
If you have an emergency that requires immediate assistance, call 911.
If you have a water emergency, please dial the on-call Phone number at 254-640-0721 and the scheduled operator can assist you.
